Powerslide Motorcycles sign Day for Superstock title attack

Australian Levi Day will return to the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 Championship in 2021 after signing a new deal to join the Powerslide Motorcycles - AJN Steelstock team.

Day finished runner-up in the Ducati TriOptions Cup this season, claiming five victories and a further four podium finishes and now will return to the Superstock class where he previously raced in 2019.

Day said: “I’m really stoked to be riding for Powerslide Motorcycles - AJN Steelstock in Superstock 1000 in 2021. I was top rookie in the class in 2019 with ninth overall and it’s great to be back in that class for next season. It’s a super competitive class with such a depth of talent that it brings out the best in me as a rider.

“I owe a big thank you to Brad and Dale from Powerslide Motorcycles for the opportunity. Also to my major sponsor AJN Steelstock and my other personal sponsors for putting all the plans together and making it possible. I’m forever grateful for the people who support me to allow me to chase my dreams!

“I can’t wait to get going on the Powerslide Suzuki GSX-R1000 and work with Bjorn and the rest of the crew. I feel I have the package to be competitive as the Suzuki is a proven race winner and the passion Brad shows; I believe I have joined a great team.”

Team Owner Brad Clarke commented: “I am massively happy to have Levi on board for 2020. We had spoken to a few people, but both myself and Dale got a good vibe with Levi and believe he can definitely shake up the class, get some great results and I also feel that he and Bjorn will work well with each other. The field is massively competitive but with Levi on board the GSX-R1000 and the support network that we have, I feel he can be massively competitive.

“A massive thanks to Alan of AJN steel stock for supporting Levi, and Paul Curran of PCR performance, the OMG squad and Steve Hicken of Hawk Racing, who are continuing with their support.”
