Currie heads final free practice of 2019 from Brookes at Brands Hatch

Ben Currie topped the final Bennetts British Superbike Championship session of 2019 in damp conditions with the Australian contingent heading the field as title contender Josh Brookes held second place at the chequered flag.

At the start of the session very few riders ventured out onto the circuit as conditions continued to improve throughout the final practice, but Currie had been the pacesetter for the majority before Brookes went fastest towards the closing stages.

However the 2015 champion soon returned to pitlane and Currie was still lapping the Grand Prix circuit and soon reclaimed the leading position on the times, to finish 0.811s ahead of his Be Wiser Ducati rival.

Ellison was back in the leading positions in third place for OMG Racing Suzuki with Bradley Ray and Joe Francis completing the top five.

Tarran Mackenzie held sixth place for McAMS Yamaha as he headed out in the final 20 minutes of the final free practice ahead of Xavi Forés and Hector Barbera with Ryan Vickers and Claudio Corti completing the top ten.
