Ellison stands in for OMG Racing at Assen

James Ellison will join the OMG Racing Suzuki team at Assen this weekend, completing a three-strong rider line up at the next round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship.

Ellison will join Luke Mossey and Billy McConnell, who is targeting a return from injury this weekend, for the tenth round of the season after recently testing the GSX-R1000R. The multiple race winner will ride the GSX-R1000R in place of Josh Elliott who will sit out the Assen event.

Ellison said: “I’m very excited for the opportunity to ride the OMG GSX-R1000R at Assen, Paul and the team are great guys and we’ve met a few times this year through our connection to Powerslide Motorcycles. I know the bike is competitive and had the opportunity to ride a stock bike GSX-R at Donington track day, so I should settle quickly and hopefully we can have two good races this weekend.”

OMG Racing Team Principal Paul Curran commented: “Big thanks to James for standing in for us on short notice, he’s a great rider with heaps of experience in the Championship. After working with him a couple of times this season through Powerslide Motorcycles, the opportunity arose. James is a great rider and we look forward to seeing how he does on the bike at Assen.”
