Kieran Kent set for racing debut with Platform Hire Racing

Kieran Kent is set to make his racing debut this season, as the younger brother of Bennetts BSB contender Danny, prepares for his first campaign in the HEL Performance British Junior Supersport Championship with Platform Hire Racing.

The team recently announced the signing of Keith Farmer for the Pirelli National Superstock Championship and now team owners Dave and Mandy Williams have signed Kieran to their 2021 line-up. The 19-year-old will make his racing debut this season, aiming to gain as much as experience as possible in his rookie campaign.

Kent said: “First of all I’d like to say a massive thank you to Dave and Mandy at Platform Hire, along with my family for making this dream become a reality, and giving me this opportunity. Although I’ve been around racing all my life, this will actually be my first ever year racing a motorcycle so I’m so excited and I can’t wait for the season to get started. I am ready to start learning and progressing as the year goes on and do the best job I can. I really am looking forward to all the challenges ahead.”

Team Owner Dave Williams commented: “Kieran has a huge passion for racing motorbikes as he has grown up with it all his life and whilst he hasn't had the opportunities to compete, he has never given up on his dream. He regularly trains with Danny and having shown much promise when riding minimoto and recent outings on the Junior Supersport bike, have shown high levels of skill and pace so we are confident that the future looks promising. It is a pleasure that we are able to give him this opportunity to realise his capabilities and find out what he can achieve – we can't wait to get started.”
